As informative as a biography but as compelling as a novel,

I knew virtually nothing about Eva Braun before reading this book. Here I learned about her unquestioning adoration of the Fuhrer, starting from soon after their first meeting. Everything is documented, down to the names of her little dogs. Eva spent a lot of time sitting around waiting for Hitler, at which times she lived like a recluse; but she also was a party animal who loved to socialize and dress in the latest fashions. The book also sheds light on the personalities of the men surrounding Hitler, some of whom disapproved of Eva. The book was not only eye-opening, but is written in a very readable style, almost like a novel. I looked forward every day to reading more. I highly recommend it.

Well researched and a great read,

Very few books have been written about Eva Braun. Not because she was especially uninteresting - more because so few people knew her, and knew about her. So all credit to the author for unearthing fresh sources and facts. I enjoyed this book a great deal. It's pretty rich in content, but never dry. And where the author does make suppositions or fill in the narrative with what people could have said or thought, you can tell it's well considered. No hesitation in recommending this book. You'll find it hard to put down, and I'm already looking forward to reading it again sometime.

Certainly an amazing book. Apparently, Eva Braun suffered from MRKH which got me thinking about that historical person differently. I can highly recommend that book because it significantly differs to all the other biographies about Eva Braun and seems to be well researched.
Thanks for enjoyable hours!

The author understands both German and American cultures and this gives a perspective to reveal great insights that are relevant today and historically interesting.

Great insight--Americans and British should read,
April 5, 2011
By Frederick D. Pepple (WAPAKONETA, OHIO, US)
The author, an American, has written with historical accuracy--but in a style that places into perspective the background of Braun and Hitler and some of those around them. Americans and British readers will find this interesting as it is written with a distinctively German perspective--something not done in other works.
The references back and forth between these historical figures as their lives unfolded, their families, their childhood, and the later experiences that molded Hitler and those around him, and especially made Eva Braun such and interesting study, work well to tie in the last days and hours in the bunker for those who were there.
The research needed for this is apparent in the result. Despite the attention given to details that might challenge any writer's style, this is a good read that keeps you wanting to turn the page and not set it down.

"You have the background for such a book. But I found no documentation such as notes or a bibliography. It reads more like a novel."
